First of all let’s get something straight: We have all been there. It gets late at night, we’ve had a long day and we feel those hunger pangs hit us. We don’t want to make a big meal, so we reach for that snack instead.

All these things have something in common : they can be ritualized. I, too, was seduced by the hypnotizing effect I felt when I was in the mindless, automated state of a ritual.
When in that mental state, you are cushty without needing to think or feel anything more. Writing this book turned into a behaviour ritual ; there had been always another chapter to draft or re-write or edit or type.
